Hi again!
Today, I will be writing about the flipped classroom again. This time though, the video is aimed to teach about grammar. I worked with Eda and Sümeyye for this video (don't forget to check out their blogs as well.)
I talked about the flipped classroom method in my last post but here is a brief reminder. The flipped classroom is a teaching method that is different from the traditional teaching methods. Teachers prepare the video with lively visuals and using their voices.
The benefits of this method are significant. First of all, the students can watch the video before the class as many times as they want. Also, they might be more willing to learn because videos can be intriguing than dull reading tasks. The method also enables the students to become familiar with the point you want to teach them beforehand. Not only that, the students will be able to tell where they are having difficulty. To sum up, this method will save you and your students a good amount of time.
We prepared the script and started to make the video after deciding the unit we wanted to work on. We used Animaker, it is easy to use so I recommend trying it if you haven't.
Now back to the process. Everything worked out fine except for the problems we had with the voiceover. First, my dear friend Eda had problems with the internet connection. Also, we realized that our voices were overlayed and some were trimmed after all of us recorded our parts. Well, Murphy's laws were at work.
Still, we managed to finish the process and it was a good experience.
You can watch our video down below. Also, you can check our quiz here.
Take care!
